Engelsk kulsort porter, brygget på engelsk humle, røget og sort malt samt engelsk lakrids. Øllen har den dejlig brændt og let røget smag.

Draught at EBF 2008, Copenhagen, Denmark. Clear medium to dark brown color with a small, fizzy - virtually none, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, licorice notes, smoke notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [120908]

A fairly good Danish porter, kindly recommended by Maria and sampled at EBF 08. Dark as pitch. Tiny, beige head. Smell of liquorice and some fruity hints. Well integrated taste of malt-covered chocolate, dark fruits and liquorice. Comfortable bittersweet finish (13.09.2008).

On tap at the Brewpub, Skagen, Denmark 19-09-08 Maria told me that this as on of the better Skagen brews, she was correct. Poured brown, real smokiness on the nose at first I wasn’t sure whether this was meant to be there but it tastes ok for it. Some good solid sweet and sour flavour’s, prunes, oakiness and a little dark fruit. None of the Skagen beers are bad, its just that they are all rather to safe and its a bit like brewing by numbers, they need to take more of a risk and trike out a bit.

Draught@EBF2008. Deep ambery brown colour, not much head. Caramel malts, hops, sugar and quite much smoked wet wood as well as roasted malts in the aroma. Flavour is leather, smoked wood and caramel. OK brew, though a bit on the lighter side.

Draught Little or no head, over practically black beer. Sweet liquorice, the English one, obviously, some sugar syrup and black malts, lightly roasted. Sweet, malty brew, light for its ABV, again lightly roasted in character. Medium bodied, not very slick.Too sweet, even for an English porter.
