Bottle. It’s an almost black beer, topped by a finger-thick tan head collapsing into a thin layer of bubbles. Slightly roasted-sour aroma with a good dash of chocolate, dark sugar and some toffee. The flavor is sweet with a tiny sourish twis. Lots of chocolate and a roasted kind of bitterness. Dryish and full-bodied. Roasted bitter finish with chocolate sweetness. Overall, quite nice, but not top notch. Even though it’s quite nice, I didn’t feel like it was bad to pour out the last 10 cl. Rating: 6-4-6-4-13-3.3. 100812
Bottle. A cute tan head sits on top of a dark brown to black body. Dried fruits, caramel, notes of coffee and a faint buttery note in the aroma. The flavor has caramel, roasted malts, dried fruits, some buttery notes and coffee. Full body. Coffee dominates the finish. A quite decent one that would do even better without the butter. 100827

very dark brown, smooth small light brown head. aroma of roasted grains, flowery notes, sort of like a mild porter. flavor is roasted grains, licorice, dark caramel, bitter caramel, faint toffee, dark chocolate, hop balance is sort of flowery sweet. ends licorice, roasted grains, caramel. A non-extreme porter which still has a reasonable amount of licorice and roasted malts in it. This one would probably get real nice if thrown into a peat smoke whiskey barrel for some time.
