Bottle shared. Dark brown pour with a thin tan head. Notes of cocoa, dark chocolate, roasted malt, brewed coffee. Medium to full bodied, low carbonation and a chocolate and coffee roasty aftertaste.

Bottle shared. Shitty label, kermis will love it but it’s too hipster and it doesn’t have cats. On to the beer. Almost black with dark beige head. Quite some coffee, roasted malts, dried plums, brown sugar, fudge. Over medium sweet and medium bitter. Over medium bodied. This was like 2.10 euro, I thought it was going to be mediocre but this is actually quite nice, especially for that price.

Bottle from Rewe supermarket in Bad Kreuznach, Germany, consumed, outside Frank (Camper) at Campingplatz Gülser Moselbogen Nr Koblenz, Germany Tuesday 28th June 2016. Pitch black in colour. Another very decent Imperial Stout (my second of the night) warming and with a good dose of sweetened liquorice. Rich and smooth, I like this, it’s not without its faults but it’s good. 33 cl bottle @ home, BBE 28.01.2030
Aroma has cocoa and mild sewer aromas. Flavour has cocoa, soy sauce, salty licorice, ash and tobacco. Quite typical and somewhat easy-going IS. I like the cocoa here.

Bottled (from BZ). Black colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is liquorice, some toffee, quite a big bitterness to it as well as some slight yeasty and earthy notes. Flavour is quite similar, in a good balance between the sweetness, roast and bitterness. Also a bit of black berries to it.

Shared bottle at home. Pours black with light brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, some smoke, dark bread, some sherry and licorice, roasted notes. Tastes slightly sweet, but bitterness dominates. Some umami. Some alcoholic warmth. Dry mouth feel.

Pours black into the glass with a creamy beige head. Aroma is dark roasted malt, chocolate, and licorice. First taste is intensely bitter, with lots of coffee, but also, more unfortunately, a strong acidic note. Mellows slightly through the course, and a light dairy sweetness is noted, but the strong bitterness pervades the beer and drowns out the more subtle notes just under the surface. Full bodied with a lightly oily character. Finishes with a bit of alcohol , but not overly boozy, and with a bit of amaretto. Interesting. Seems well made, but was ultimately a bit of a disappointment for me.
