You can only drink so many beers in a lifetime, so you better make each one count. That's where we can help. Because at Epic we're obessed with creating big hop-fuelled beers. This takes a shed-load of skill. It also takes a shed-load of hops. In fact there are 23 crammed into this bottle. Many brewers would call that 'insane'. We call it flavour.

I'm excited to see a kiwi beer in a bomber but it's pretty weak. Not bad, just unoriginal.

330ml can at School of Animals, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy medium amber with an everlasting frothy white head. The aroma is toffee caramel malt. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a rich, malty, sweet toffee, biscuit, light herbal, light woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Pint on tap at Pomeroys, Christchurch. Golden bronze beer, thin white film on top. Subdued aroma of malt and fruity hops. Light carbonation. Laces well. Easy-drinking, chalky lemon finish. Comforting pleasant pint.

330ml bottle. Aroma is all caramel with a little biscuit. Taste is some caramel up front, leading into some fruit (maybe pear). Pleasant but not too exciting.

On keg at the Bow Bar. Appearance - not particularly pale. More a deep amber. Decent head. Nose - a bit elusive. Citrus and pine. Resin. Dried fruits. Taste - toffee and red fruits. Definitely raisins on the end. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - tastes stronger and more complex than the ABV. It’s hard to put this in the pale ale category.

Bottle from Drinkmonger. Clear amber body with a thin off-white head. Steady carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of herbs, fresh hops and kiwi fruit. Flavour of lemon, pithy orange and tonic water. Thin body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Crisp and hoppy.

3rd March 2015
Bright clear amber beer, decent pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry and mildly crisp. The pale malts are clean and present a little sweetness. Hops are light pine with traces of lime and mild marmalade. Little hop spice. Semi dry finish. Clean and pretty drinkable.
