Our signature beer, Black Bavarian, is renowned for its drinkability. This light to medium-bodied Schwarzbier (black beer) features superb malt and hop complexity. Beneath the creamy tan head, within the lager’s smooth mouthfeel lie flavors and aromas suggesting dark roasted coffee, caramel and bittersweet chocolate. Masterful hopping makes Black Bavarian both lighter and drier than expected. It has a pleasingly long finish. The kind that lingers just enough between sips, the kind that makes this rich flavored brew so easy to drink.

Bottled, 2007. Wow, shockingly good. Pours very dark with a slightly reddish hue and a moderate head. Significant lacing. Roasted malts aroma. Taste is chocs and caramels, very light mouthfeel. Hint of bitter to finish. Great beer.

black pour with a thin tan head. Aroma of espresso, brown sugar, and loads of roasted malt. Flavor is very roasty, lots of malt, some nice bitter cocoa, and an espresso finish. Really interesting beer, but i’m not sure if it’s that true to the style. none the less, its awesome!

Can from Livonia Liquor. Pours a deep brown to black with a finger of beige head that lingers. Dark cocoa and coffee aromas on the nose. More of the same on the palate. Well balanced and easy drinking. Zero acridness on the finish. Cocoa, malt and coffee that lingers, but not heavy or cloying by any means.

One of my favorite schwartzes. Extremely well balanced yet complex enough to keep it interesting.

From old tasting notes. Blackish brown, nearly opaque with a quickly disappating tan head. Aroma is slightly dry and vinous in nature. Semisweet roasted malt flavor upfront. Bitter hops in middle. Smooth dry finish has good hop character. Aftertaste is dry and somewhat bitter, yet long and interesting. Very lightly carbonated. Fairly well balanced and full bodied. Subtle and unique.

Can from Total Wines, Sterling VA. Dark brown in colour, with a decent, off-white, head. A pleasant black lager, with rich chocolate and toasty malts, some brown sugar and plenty of leafy hops, before a lingering, bitter, finish. Easy drinking for the ABV and enjoyable.
