Bottle, shared by plovmand. It’s hazy and orange-golden in the glass, with a nice dense beige head. Some floaties swirling around too. Spiced nose with some alcohol and beef-stock, fruityness and sweetness. Alcohol and spices are the first to be detected in the mouth, followed by lots of dried fruit and sweetness. Sticky and full-bodied with a good effervescent. Some alcohol warmth too, and in a strange way, it feels dry. A nice beer, actually really pleasant, but it would be pushing the limits to say it’s balanced. (080823)

(Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of plovmand. Hazy amber golden with floating impurities and a tall and rough head that unfortunately dissipates rather quickly. Spicy nose - some ginger? - and sweet fruits. Quite rich in the body with sweetish caramel, fruit and again spices. Somewhat astringently bitter finish. 230808

33cl bottle. Thanks to Plovmand. Pours hazy yellow with a egg white head. Nose & taste is complex of yeast & spices. Smooth palate. Very nice!

Bottled. Hazy nutbrown colour with small white head. Aroma is caramelly, malty and some spices, cookies and sugaryness. Flavour is caramel, sweetness and some mild breadyness. Aftertaste is spices as well as flowery bitterness.

Yellowish small head, fast gone over orangey-gold beer, with a slight haze and a lot of UFO’s next. Very perfumey beer, lavender, rosemary, Canada poplar leaves, willow leaves. Very estery-spicy (Szechuan pepper?), and markedly bog myrtle, as well as again lavender (even when the ingredients don’t speak about such addition). Point, if unmistakable, of restsugar, and a touch of alcohol. Medium bodied, grist slickness. Aftertaste is spicy bitterness. Spicy, rather original beer. I keep wondering about the lavender.

Vintage 2007, 8% ABV
Cloudy golden color; creamy head; too much yeast in the bottle. The aroma is perfumy, light spices, lavender, very light yeast; interesting. The mouthfeel is very good, soft, quite sweet with malt flavor; also a herbal touch (light rosemary or lavender); the bitterness at the end is just a bit above my liking. Good but odd.
