7/11/12/12/10/12

(33cl bottle, as Hofgrobberke 2007, Lentebier, 8.0% abv) Cloudy, orange colour with yeast flakes swimming around and a short white layer. Sweet bready malty aroma with strong spicy notes of ginger and pepper. Moderately sweet flavour, medium bodied, slightly fizzy carbonation. Malt-accented base yeasty and light-fruity taste with spices getting stronger towards the sweet and bready, also pretty alcoholic finish with shades of herbal hops. Imo not particularly rounded and a bit too spicy (07.IV.09).

Bottle: Gushing, cloudy with lots of floaties and an astonishing sediment, smaller, slowly collapsing off-white foamy layer; bread and exotic fruits in the nose, completed by not very well hidden traces of herbal (peppermint ?) hops; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, full bodied, creamy, soft MF; a tinge of warming alcohol (a bit brany-like) in the fruity-yeasty and bready finish. A powerful goody.......

2007 bottle, vielen vielen dank Günther! Aromatic alcohols - apple, a bit bierbrand, wood spice. Cloudy yellow (I wasnt carefull enough I guess), fine white head. Apple, mango, green wood, calvados in the flavor. Medium to light body, mellow sparkly mouthfeel. Quick finish, which is a shame. Tropical retronasal. Very pleasant drink.
