Záviš z Falkenštejna patřil k rodu jihočeských Vítkovců. Byl milencem a později manželem Kunhuty, vdovy po Přemyslu Otakaru II. Jejich útočištěm se na krátký čas stal hrad Svojanov, ležící v lesích necelých 20 km od Poličky.
12% světlý ležák nesoucí jeho jméno je pivo zlatavé barvy, má jemný říz a plnost s citelným chmelovým aroma.
Vyráběno původní technologií podle receptu sládka Františka Bittnera s použitím studniční vody, žateckého poloraného červeňáku a nejkvalitnějšího sladu, s kvašením a zráním studenou cestou ve spilce a ležáckých sklepích, vyhloubených v opukovém masívu. Jejich konstantní vlhkost a teplota zaručují neměnný a individuální charakter tradičního poličského piva.

Bottle, kindly provided by pivnizub. light minerally, orangepeel - aromatic hops. Light hazy amber, very fine carbonation, beautiful lace. Wooden, light minerally grain base overlaid with oranges and tomatolike sweetness - traditionel hops. Mellow, chewy, light sparkly mouthfeel. Citric and almondy finish. Wooden, light clayish retronasal. Lovely.

Hopfig-bitterer Antrunk, später wird das Bier noch bitterer. Der Mittelteil ist von einem süßen, dennoch frischen und spritzigen Aroma, das trotz getreidiger Note mild erscheint. Eine dezente Karamellmalznote kommt zum Ende hin auf, bleibt aber nur kurzzeitig bestehen. Mild herb-bitterer Abgang mit malziger Gerstennote. bottle, bought at Hrom do Police in Praha-Vinohrady. Pale yellow colour, creamy head. Similar to the 11° lager named Otakar, this also has a malty start and gets more and more hoppy and dry towards the finish. Lovely bitter-sweet Czech lager.

Sample from 50 cL bottle. Pours filtered yellow with a white head. Aroma is hay and straw. Flavour is soft malty with touch of barnyard, not really sweet nor dry, slight citric. Finish is slight watery.

Bottled. A golden beer with a light orange head. The aroma is sweet metallic with a light note of alcohol. The flavor is sweet malty with a light touch of alcohol, leading to a dry bitter end, and the body is thin. Boring.

Pale golden colour. Frothy head. Brief hoppy aroma. Thin flavour of salty liquorice and a little bit of hops. Bitter finish. Tastes like a mainstream German Pils.

(bottle) Clear golden colour with a medium frothy white head. Malty nose with a touch of citrus and hay. Dry bitter flavour, but initially malty with a nice hopbitter finish. Good !

From tap at the brewery hotel: golden colour, long lasting huge off-white head, shy malty nose with a tinge of bitterness from behind, medium bodied, soft malty taste, only short lasting bitter-malty aftertaste, well rounded, well quaffable. This lager is a typical example of the moravian style: more malts, less hops...........O.K.l
