Growler: Poured alight clear amber color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrusy notes with light dry caramel notes also noticeable. Taste is a nice mix of citrusy hops with light dry caramel malt with a medium level of bitterness. Boyd is about average with good carbonation. Very enjoyable IPA but I would have preferred a bit more hoppy floral notes and somewhat less bitterness.

Cask gravity at the brewery shop. Aroma is earthy grassy wet grass hops, nutty malt ans some mineral. Clear light amber colour with a thin lasting white head. Flavour is rich nutty malt with a touch of caramel and grassy hop in the tail end. Nice malt character. Solid bitter.

Cask @ Cross Keys, Harpenden. Golden brown. Very lively with large lingering head. Faint aroma mainly of biscuit with some undefinable fruit. A hint of the sea oddly mixed in. Mild taste, sweet with fruit throughout; gentle finish. Aftertaste accentuates hops. Not an IPA of course, but a Classic English bitter. Won’t knock your socks off but it’s still a decent drop.

Gravity cask at the Bree Louise. Pours clear gold with a slight, filmy white head. Aroma seems a bit weak thought there are faint notes of lightly toasted malts and citrus. Has an alright flavor, lightly sweet with some dried hay, orange peel faintly earthy bitterness. Light bodied with very fine carbonation. Finishes a bit flat with modest bread, citrus, grass and hay. An OK beer but doesn’t seem to be living up to its potential
