A typical old fashioned dark mild, but with a surprisingly fresh bitterness, which is held right to the end

(Cask at Wenlock Arms, London, 30 July) Colour is almost black with ruby notes, small frothy head. Nose is roasted and malty, with notes of wild berries (blackberries), a bit modest. Taste is roasted, leaning towards fruity with notes of blackberries and cherries. Mainly dry, light body and rather short finish. Thin but relatively tasty mild.

[Cask at GBBF 2004] An opaque brown beer with a fine brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel, while the flavor primarily is a sour (due to lack of alcohol) mil flavor with a roasted bitter end.
