Rich in fruit with hints of chocolate, we’ve made Barnsey a full-bodied dark ale that is both complex and deeply satisfying.
Barnsey is a truly rewarding and enjoyable beer, carefully brewed using a mix of Maris Otter, Chocolate and Crystal malts together with Bramling Cross hops. Barnsey contains wheat and barley malt.

Riktigt trevlig.

Flaska från SB, delad med Samuel214. Mörkbrun/kastanj med litet vitbeiget skum. Sött i doften, torkad frukt, brunt socker. Medelstor, något torr. Snäll sötma från torkad frukt och brunt socker, men främst lite brända toner och rostad malt. Väldigt snäll beska.

Srednie piwo. Za duzo karmelu, a za malo goryczki. Przypominalo raczej dunkela niz Bittera. W smaku karmel, ciastka orzechowe i marcepan. Goryczka jako taka byla ale marna. Pianka tez niewielka i szybko opada. Klarowna rubinowo miedziana barwa. Nic szczegolnego.

Bottle. Appearance - close to opaque black but with some red chinks. Off white almost fawn head. Nose - toffee and biscuits. Taste - more toffee than biscuits. Was hoping for some malt or hop bitterness on the finish. Some hazelnuts in there too. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy yet crunchy texture and a finish that could be fresher. Overall - a solid bitter but as mentioned earlier it could do with more bitterness on the finish.

Appearance- very dark brown, with a Ruby tinge. Not much head at all. Aroma- malts, caramel, brown bread, hint of dark fruit, milk chocolate. Taste- quite chocolatey and a bit roasty, dark malts, blackberries, fruitcake, sweet caramel undertones, some fruitiness, smooth mouthfeel with a short, bitter finish. Solid stuff.

Gravity cask at the Lady Lane Wharf beer festival, June 2015. Poured a dark brown colour with a thin whispy white head. The aroma is sweet malt, treacle toffee. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light sweet butterscotch, woody resin hop palate. Moderate to light bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at the white lady. Pours clear dark amber with a bubbly cream-coloured head. Aromas of malt and a light sour note. Taste is more of the same. Thin, caramel, light herbs maybe. Toffee at the end.

bottle, Tesco Honiton. Amber-bronw colour, fluffy off-white head. Grainy-bready start, some fruity hoppy touches in the finish.
