Sample at SBWF 2012. Amber with a medium head. Aroma of citrus, malt and toffee. The same in the taste, also notes of grass. Medium bitterness. Nothing special but easy to drink.

Thick-set, dense yellow head over hazed orange-amber beer; textbook lacerings. Grapey hops in force, bit of grapefruit, lime and a spur of resin. Further an aroma, very reminiscent of lemonbalm. Dry-bitter, resiny and herbal hops. Again a bit of citrus; mango, pine. Very faraway caramel in the background. Rather agressively carbonated, fizzy. Medium bodied at best. Not bad at all. Many thanks to Chris B and Wacho!

12 ounce bottle from the brewery. Pours a clear copper color with a thin frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Herbal, citrus hop aroma with a bit of pale malt. The taste is bitter resin and citrus hops. Medium bodied. A little bit off balance, but solid.

Pours gold into a shaker. White head quickly recedes to hug rim. Deep sour caramel front to back. Not sure it’s fresh...

Bottle from Half Time. Pours clear copper with a creamy near-white head. Well there’s a lot of aroma - citrus, resin, floral - not to mention some roast malt. Med body or better. Flavor is multiple hop over a roast malt backbone struggling to be recognized. It’s not harsh. It is fairly bitter. Even seems to have some pepper along the way. Very good ale. A pleasure to drink.

Bottle. Slightly hazy amber with a medium off-white head. Aroma of piney and slightly citric hops, a bit stale, with fruity notes, some malt and caramel. Sweetish caramelly malt flavor and a bitter finish with some hops that seem a bit over their prime. Medium-bodied. OK.

Draught at Harrys Cafe & Steak, Manhattan. Realy nice UK malt base, smooth body, well complimented by US hops. My non-geeky colleagues all enjoyed it and had another round.

Pizzeria Paradiso, Georetown cask ($6): Pours an orange color with a nice white head, along with minimal cask carbonation. Wonderful citrus and malt aroma that foreshadows some of the mild sweetness to be seen later. Hops are done in perfect moderation, but in excellent character. Slightly sweet. The best things about this are the aroma and the mouthfeel. A truly dank APA.
