The lower gravity cousin to Rochefort 10. Nicknamed "Spéciale" (’The Special’), this beer is the most recent production. The Rochefort 8 has a more tawny colour and a more pronounced aroma, with an even richer fruitiness (a slight undertone of fig?) and a little more spiced dryness, like that of a cake, which gives a balanced finish to the final notes.

Bottiglia BBE 09/2020 e bevuta 09/2018. Il gusto al naso è indirizzato verso frutta passita, pane nero, pepe, cuoio, lievito, speziato e alcolico. L'olfatto viene stimolato in maniera molto elevata, ricca ed elegante. La maniera in cui permane è considerevole, pregevole e lunga. Il cappello di schiuma Il manto mantello birroso superiore è caratterizzato da una schiuma importante, cremosa, color beige e che resiste abbastanza. La grandezza delle bollicine è a grana fine. Il liquido è di aspetto cristallino e anche qui la grandezza delle bollicine è fine, con velocità di ascesa persistente ed insistita. Il colore è ambrato carico tendente rossiccio. Il corpo è articolato, strutturato e con texture di spessore. L'amaro è contenuto. La forza gustativa è molto elevata. La continuità gustativa è buona e lunga. Il gusto è piacevolissimo. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di pronta beva. Il finale è felpato, secco, pulito e complesso. In bocca l'aroma è quello di caramello, miele, frutta secca, agrumi, uvetta bagnata nel rum, cherry, pepe bianco, prugna e vaniglia. La percezione alcolica non è esagerata.

33cl bottle from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours dark brown, plum, with average whitish foam, medium grain. Aroma is malty, walnuts, winey. Body is dense, with good carbonation. Taste is pretty sweet, with a licorice feeling. Limited bitterness. Finish is fairly long and sweet.

330ml bottle. Pours dark orange brown with a big white head that doesn't last particularly long. Biscuit, chocolate, ginger biscuit, port, real vinous, liquorice, bit of all spice, tobacco, touch of herbal stuff. Medium body with high carbonation. Decent.
