The lower gravity cousin to Rochefort 10. Nicknamed "Spéciale" (’The Special’), this beer is the most recent production. The Rochefort 8 has a more tawny colour and a more pronounced aroma, with an even richer fruitiness (a slight undertone of fig?) and a little more spiced dryness, like that of a cake, which gives a balanced finish to the final notes.

Bottle 33 cl. Noisy beer, amber brown color, good foam. Rich aroma: various shades of malt, branded toffee and candy sugar, many fruits (pear, tangerine, plum, black cherry). Taste: spiky sparkling, wine, fruits and malts, candies, caramel and toffee, wine-fruit sweetness, very good!

Bottle online from Beerhouseshop.be. Pours a deep caramel brown colour with a large thick creamy beige head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, fruit cake, candy and a little brown sugar. Taste has more of the notes from the aroma with a spicy tangy mouthfeel and a dry fruity and caramel finish. Some sweetness but not too much. Very complex. Extremely well balanced. Medium to full body with a lively mouthfeel. Perfect carbonation. Great beer!

Veel en veel en veel teveel co2, caramel, rozijn, dun, alcohol..... waar is het bier van weleer gebleven... tegenwoordig gooi ik het hoofdzakelijk nog in een stoofpot, daar komt het beter tot zijn recht...
