Pours a deep, midnight black with a light tan head. Smells of coffee and dark chocolate and the mouthfeel is velvety smooth with flavors of roasted malts, oatmeal and warm bread. Dragonstooth is a very drinkable stout – satisfying but not heavy.

Bottle 66cl. @ home.[ Trade with Maria ]. Clear dark black color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, coffee, peat. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy malt bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium to ’medium t full’, texture is oily - creamy and smooth, carbonation is soft. (230608)

Pours fairly viscous for a stout that isn’t an imperial, with a nearly black body, and a compact, dark tan head - the carbonation is a little fizzy, so it does look a little like soda, though - rich aroma of licorice, roasted malt, cocoa, vanilla, caramelized sugars - the flavor and body aren’t as rich as the aroma suggests, but its still very tasty - a lot of dry, bitter, dark roast coffee character up front, followed by sweeter notes of vanilla and chocolate, plus a bit of black cherry on the back end - a bit of black licorice/anise comes in near the end as well - lingering bitter chocolate - quite a nice beer.

Draught @ Elysian Fields. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty coffee aroma. Roasted dark chocolate flavor with hints of coffee and some hints of bitter hops. Has a roasted malty finish with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Sample at the Pike Street location. Pours black with a medium dark beige head that dissipates steadily. Patchy lacing on the glass. The aroma contains chocolate, malt, anise and coffee. Rich and smooth body with flavors of chocolate and roasted coffee, plus some hops and spices. The finish is roasty with a chocolate and espresso flavor that lingers awhile. Very enjoyable from start to finish.

From Skyview. A thick and heavy beer. Almost no carbonation. Loads of malt which, combined with moderate hops, makes this bitter. Just a little chocolate in there

Bottle. Black beer with a tan head. Light roast, light coffee, chocolate aroma. Sweet chocolate flavor with light roast and backing bitterness. Medium bodied. Nice balance. Lingering dark chocolate, malt, caramel, and light citrus bittering.

Draft at brewery in South Downtown Seattle, enjoyed in the company of after4ever. Pour is all black, with a two inch tan head. Aroma of espresso roast and some bright hoppiness. The taste mirrored the nose, with a bunch of roasted malt and a crisp hop finish. Well made stout.

Bottle. Sugar, caramel and burned aroma. Fairly black, creamy brown head. Smooth chocolate entry, Dark sugar, granola, hops hide in the background. Dry finish, coffee and caramel aftertaste, a hint cinnamon retrnasal. Creamy texture, very lightly carbonated. Nice.

Bottle: Pours black with a medium sized creamy tan head. Sort of a honey comb type lacing. Nose is mild of roasted malt and mocha. Tastes rich with roast and bittersweet and dark chocolate. Some additional bitters too. Silky smooth, this is a refreshingly easy to sip on and really released the flavors well as the glass warmed.

Bomber. Aromas of coffee, anise and dark fruit. Opaque black/brown color with a tan head that went away with minimal lacing. Thin to medium bodied. Smooth. Moderately carbonated - no bite. Coffee, hint of anise, hop bitter. Starts with sweet toast, moves on to a not really dry finish with coffee and bitter. It’s a great experience.
