Pours a deep, midnight black with a light tan head. Smells of coffee and dark chocolate and the mouthfeel is velvety smooth with flavors of roasted malts, oatmeal and warm bread. Dragonstooth is a very drinkable stout – satisfying but not heavy.

Bottle. Nearly black, very thick bright tan head, solid lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate and string beans (I am not kidding). Taste is dark bitter cocoa, vanilla, black pepper. Nice.

Bomber poured into snifter. Spicy nose. Brown sugar, semi-sweet chocolate, raisins and chiles dominate. Pours darker than a dragon’s asshole with a medium dissipating head and wonderfully sticky lacing. Black coffee and dark chocolate greet the tastebuds. Taste starts out just faintly sweet and finishes bitter. A nice tangy aftertaste is left on the tongue. Carbonation is medium and the mouthfeel is pleasantly creamy. Overall, a very tasty stout, and dirt cheap considering the quality represented here. $3.99 for a 22 oz bottle!

Very good stout, label art aside. It’s a good stout with a rich, sweet chocolate, coffee roasted stout flavor. The beer pours dark and looks thick. The aroma is jumping between a good chocolate milk shake with a dash of espresso and one of those cheap Italian espresso soda things. So, it’s a mixed bag but ultimately good. The flavor is also fairly sweet, but it has some bite. There’s more to it than I was expecting. The roasted malt flavor is rich and full, a beer that tastes bigger than its size. Feel is smooth with a mildly acrid finish.

22 ounce bottle courtesy of RiversideAK in Mystery Swap 4.0. Pours a deep, dark orange tinted brown color with a medium brown creamy head, Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, leather, tobacco, coffee, leafy hop notes. Taste is chocolate, roasted malts, cream, bitter hops, leather, nuts, a bit of a chalky note. Big full, rich mouthfeel, full bodied. Good beer.

10th October 2008. GABF. Given as a lighter 6.2% abv. Nicely balanced stout. Just the right side of being overly toasted. No bitterness. Smooth and creamy.

Bottled. Dark color, fluorescent brown head. Aroma is very malty, coffee and chocolat. Same for taste. Very good beer that mixes good ingredients with good balance.

Appearance: Dark brown color, poured with a thin brown head, and a bit of lace
Flavor: Nice malty taste, coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, roasted malts, some light earthy/pete hops
Palate: A nice, thick, medium-full bodied beer, smooth and creamy mouthfeel
Overall Impression: I think you need to allow this one to breathe for a bit to get the full affect of the nose. This beer has a nice flavor profile. It is a good, smooth stout, that I enjoyed quite a bit.

Called an Imp stout on draught. Poured black with thin beige head. Some lacing. Malty aroma with a bit of chocolate. Malty flavour, with more chocolate and oatmeal. A weak finish which dragged the beer down.

courtesy of tpd675. Pours black with a godlen - brownish head, leaving some nice yellow lacing. Aroma of oats and roasted coffee. Taste, roasted malts with light bitter chocolate and coffee. Very smooth with grainy mouthfeel. Finish mocha with a creamy - milk coffee.

Bottle at the tasting at the Bruery. Pours with a black body and no head of any significance. Aroma of dry coffee grounds, light chocolate and cereal. Taste is chocolate and smoke with a bit of dirt and jerky. Syrupy mouth, light bubbles.
