Sharing this bottle during the last friday with Alex, relax, at home with a German light body black beer, not a black one on the American way but brewed on the German way, watery, could be more roasty, light note of coffee, dry, ordinary bitterness. Ok, 16.03.2024

500ml bottle. Opalescent auburn colour with average, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Sweet-ish, dark malty aroma, hints of malt lozenge. Taste is minimally toasty, dark malty and slightly grassy, mildly bitter hoppy, minimally yeasty fruity, hints of dark caramel, a touch of malt lozenge, plum; minimally warming, alcoholic finish. Watery texture, smooth and soft, simultaneously minimally dry palate, medium to fine, dense, soft, mildly prickly carbonation. Not too sweet, not overly complex - OK.

Schmucker Doppel Bock dunkel, Flasche von Maruhn. - Sehr dunkles Rubinrot, klar. - Dezente Nase mit feinem dunklen und Karamelmalz und schwacher Hopfengrundierung. - Antrunk schwer dunkelmalzig mit kräftiger, etwas brenzliger Röstigkeit, Maggi oder Angebranntes. Krautige Hintergrundherbe, feuchtes Laub. Mild rezent, vollmundig; zum Ende hin immer deutlicher alkoholschwer. Im Abgang derbe krautig-holzige Herbe mit leicht fauligen Zügen (Hopfenextrakt ist schon ein fieses Zeug ...). - Schwerer aber derber Bock mit deutlichen Aromadefiziten, kein rechter Genuß. bottle from Ladenburg. Deep red-brown, tall beige head. Full-bodied malty flavours with biscuit, caramel, chocolate and a shy, but warming touch of alcohol. Well balanced and smooth.
