Leighton’s flat clearance. Thanks to unclean Daniel. Opaque dark brown beer, tidy tan head. Palate is airy and semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Smooth malts with developing coffee bitterness. Tangy dark fruits. Bitter coffee start to dominate. Dry finish. Fine.

Bottle shared at Leightons gaff , 19/09/2016. Many thanks to Daniel for this one. A dark black coloured pour with reddy hues, halo of mid tan head. Aroma is smoked roast, dark choc, ash. Reddy berries. Flavour is composed of rich dark choc, cherry, ashy roast, earthy notes. Palate is bitter roast, choc, medium bodied, frothy carbonation. Like it.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Daniel. Pours deep brown with a foamy, beige head. The nose holds milk chocolate, light licorice, burnt toast. Light sweet flavour with simple burnt malts, bittersweet chocolate, dried berries. Light bodied with average carbonation. Moderately sweet on the finish, with further baking cocoa, mellow roast, leathery berries. Good beer.

Bottle thanks to Dirty D. It pours darkest brown with a small tan head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, cocoa, plain chocolate, earthy, liquorice, umami, plum, date and prune. The taste is bitter - sweet, sticky, prune, date, plum, fig, jammy, earthy roast, light spice and salted liquorice with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Decent enough stout, but no game - changer.

Bottle shared at the Ale House, Chelmsford. Pours close to black with a tan head. Moderate aroma of coffee, chocolate, malt, and sea-salt. Medium sweetness and bitterness, with a light saltiness. Medium+ body, slick texture, soft carbonation. The oyster comes through the more you get through it. Decent if a little less spectacular than had been hoped.

Oh, this is the business!
