Keg@Hare and Billet, Blackheath, London - pours black with persistent beige head and lacing. Both sweet and roasted malty aroma and taste, with big chocolate, some coffee, caramel, some vanilla stokes in here as well, roasted finish. Beautiful.

Bottle shared by Casper @ De Bierbrigadier Eindhoven. Thanks for sharing Casper! Opaque very dark brown to black color, medium to full sized beige head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is malts, some roast, lightly earthy, liquorice. Taste malts, dark malts, earthy, liquorice again and a slight touch of hops. Decent body, a bit fizzy carbonation.

Tap at Craft Beer Rising (London, 19 February 2015) Black with thin coffee brown rims and a head of coffee brown foam. The nose shows a briny oyster background with notes of dark chocolate and latte. The palate shows a slight tartness. Medium bodied & carbonation. Very smooth with flavors of dark chocolate and espresso and once again, the briny oyster constantly in the background. These flavors blend together harmoniously. Very clean espresso finish. All flavors are balanced, clean, and clear.

Pours dark brown with massive beige head. Head reduces fast but some foam still remains. Taste has some velvety fruitiness, coffee, bit oily texture. Strong coffee malts, bitter chocolate. Nice balance with salty sea characteristics, bit sour feel in the aftertaste. Nice sturdy stout.

Bottle. Black with red tinges. Light tan head that fades a fair bit. Aroma of dark toffee, roasted malt, plums, mocha, what seems like licorice and iodine until you taste. Quite a lot of burnt flavours upfront, with just a little sweetness behind. Didn’t smell like oysters, but you can taste them, or at least their liquor - there’s a bit of gritty brininess running right through to the finish. Not as much as the very full-on Scheldebrouwerij Oesterstout, but it’s there in spades and nicely integrated. Very good balance and weight. Excellent. [3.9] Head lingers a little longer. Rich without much sweetness, quite roasty, dark berries, minerally bitter finish.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a rim of brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of both sweet and roasted malt, while the flavor is sweet with ntoes of malt, oyster, and alcohol as well as light notes of spices. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a dark brown – almost opaque – with a tint of red and a dense, light brown head. Distinct burned malt aroma with a whiff of port. Medium body with solid burned malt accents, a little vanilla and perhaps a wee saline touch. Dry malt bitter finish. Excellent. 130608
