300ml draught, very much enjoyed early on a sunny Saturday afternoon outdoor in the Brewpub’s gårdhave, Copenhagen. Served at the right drinking temperature. Good looking brownish tophead over an ink black body. Aroma of roasted sweet malts with hints of dark fruits coming through. Taste almost like chocolate cream added coffee beans plus a welcoming alcoholic and long bitter finish. A perfect drink after eating lunch (31.05.2008).

Medium brown head. Opaque black body goes dark red at edges. Strong, firm acidic meaty roasty coffee aroma. Deep intense chocolatey smoky burnt wooden taste with notes of whiskey and alcohol. Very harmonic. Soft, velvety smooth mouthfeel. Some alcohol heat. Sharpish smoky edge throughout. Long, dry, lingering wooden perfumy smoky aftertaste. A real winner. Very, very good. (0.3l cask at the brewpub.)

(On tap) Pours tar black and opaque with a tiny, rough, light brown head. Aroma of burned malt and vanilla. Very full in body but completely flat. Notes of coffee, tar and tobacco with very burned malty accents. Rather burned, malt astringent finish again with some tar. Actually "Harveys Imperial Stout" is my closest reference. 260408

From cask at the brewpub. Pours dark brown to black with a bubbly light chocolate brown head. Roasted and chocolate malt aroma. Sweet malt and chocolate flavour with a light acidic touch from the roasted malt. Solid roasted note into the finish. Light alcohol presence and warmth in the finish. Persisting light acidic touch from the roasted flavours in the far finish.

Cask at the brewpub. A black beer with a bubbly brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt and chocolate as well as lighter notes of soy sauce and coffee. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of chocolate and malt as well as lesser notes of roasted malt and coffee, leading to a very roasted and slightly bitter finish. Nice.
