9/3/2024. Bottle from Beautiful Beers, Bury St Edmunds. Pours clear amber brown with a large frothy off-white head. Aroma is malty, sweet, caramel, bready, yeast, touch nutty and fruity. Fairly sweet wit light to moderate bitterness and a slight tart hint. Moderate body, quite smooth, foamy carbonation. So so.

APPEARANCE: amber to dark-amber body and just slightly hazy. gushing. medium-low off-white head with low retention. lace formation. TASTE: medium-low to low caramelized sugar notes. low fruity esters (dried grapes). medium bitterness with a dry and slightly toasty finish. MOUTHFEEL: medium body with medium-high carbonation. Bottle at home. Has a slightly hazy dark copper with an off-white head. Aroma of bread crust, anise, metall, forest floor, acetone, nuts and cocoa. Flavour of forest flavour bread crust, Belgian yeast, juniper, oak and anise. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body and a soft bitterness. Malty and decent.

Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours a deep murky amber colour with a large thick creamy off-white head. Aroma is sweet with red berries, jam and some caramel. Taste is tart with more berries and caramel with some chocolate and herbal notes. Thin to medium body. Much too sour for my liking. I don’t like this beer.
