Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting, from CITTI-Markt Flensburg. ABV is 5.0%. Orange to amber colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma of milk chocolate and vanilla. Flavour of chocolate and vanilla, not as sweet as I feared, a little bitterness and a hint of fruit in the finish.

Bottle. A clear, golden beer topped by a finger-thick off-white head leaving lacings. The aroma has lots of milk chocolate and nougat, and a fruity hint. Quite weird but not bad at all. The flavor isn’t as focused on the chocolate as the aroma is, but there’s a good bit of it anyway. Pale malts and hoppy bitterness in between. Medium body, and a finish with chocolate and hoppy bitterness. A really strange one, quite tasteful, but I can’t imagine I could drink a bottle on my own. 100327

33cl bottle, purchased at the chocolate museum in Cologne. Pours amber with a foamy beige head. Aroma is definitely a good cacao/chocolate aroma. How could this go wrong? I tasted it, that’s how. The body is weakish, and the carbonation lightly foamy. The flavor is a bit like cacao nibs. Thats the good thing. There’s some bitter that doesn’t sit well. The good thing is the long chocolate finish. Can’t believe this rated out at 3, but there it is. It is going well with Belgian chocolate. Maybe that’s what it’s for. So maybe 3 is ok.

Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Clear amber, rich firm head. Aroma of cocoa powder and yellow plums. Sweet with clean mouthfeel. The cocoa flavour is on fairly balanced levels but the combination with almost extreme fruitiness and clean malt character is odd to say the least. Somewhere in this frontal collision I get flavours such as plastic and vegetables. Still it feels interesting and reasonably drinkable.
