On tap at Toms Tap, Crewe. Pours a hazy brick brown with a small off-white head. There’s nuts and caramel in the aroma, plus hints of hoppiness. In the mouth rye grains are to the fore with underlying malts and caramel. Bitterness comes through after a while, and is the mainstay of the finish. This is decent – but not much different from a normal red ale.
