This strong smoked stout was brewed with a base malt consisting entirely of Weyermann beechwood smoked malt, in addition to speciality malts including chocolate rye, dark crystal and black malt and fermented with our house kveik yeast.

440mL can, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma has a lot of earthy rye spiciness, medium roast, and a touch of smokiness. Flavour has a nice malt profile, with a wonderful earthy rye spiciness, gentle smoke, and medium roast. Quite dry, earthy, and gently smoky. Cohesive and eminently drinkable. Very good.

Can shared at Free Beer. Black with tan head. Smoke, sweet malts, blackberries, spicy rye, bitter earthy notes. Quite sweet and bitter. Over medium bodied.

On tap at The Rusty Bucket, Eltham. Nose is brown sugar, smoke, coffee, dark chocolate. Taste is a nice mix of the above. Smoky dry & sweet. Interesting brew.

From tap at Baxfest 2025. Smokey aroma with notes of ash, roasted malt, some chocolate, hint of peat. Moderate bitter, ashy finish. Body is medium.

Tap at CAJS for the BPBW 2025 Holy Goat tap takeover. Thanks Barba, Elena and Vášek! Blackish body, off-white head. Peaty, minerally, meaty, bit yeasty aroma, better than the sum of its parts. Odd taste, heaps of smoke, some pepper, berry touches. Quite okay, one of the favorites on the table.

Can from Against The Grain. Black body with a thin tan head that fades. Low carbonation. Very faint lacing. Aroma of smoked malt (a lot) and prune. Flavour of raisin and smoked malt. Medium body with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A heavily smoked, full-on stout. Very good.
