Named in honour of Rick’s infamous four legged friend, this exceptional beer has since claimed multiple international brewing awards.

Bottle, 6.8%. Hazy golden colour. Lacy white head. Fruity flavour, some dust, a little bread. Vinous aftertaste.

Bottle, from my dear mother, Sainsburys Taplow. I think Rick Stein has definitely won the battle of the tv chefs when it comes to beer ! This pisses on fearnley- cottage bloke’s crap nettle effort. Poured a slightly hazy golden with a good lingering creamy white head. . Aroma was sweet with some pine hops and fruit. Fairly lively carbonation. Sweetish, lightly hopped flavour with piney, fruit and hop notes. Quite complex, with good strength. Very refreshing and a really top effort. Would definitely try again...Woof woof !

Clear golden with large white head. Sweet fruity aroma with citric and mild hoppy notes. Sweet flavor with floral hops and peachy notes.

Bottle. Clear medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, fruity, light hoppy, flowers. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, fresh. Body is light to medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. (250408)

Bottle. Cherry malt and pine hops aroma. Golden coal with moderate head. Mild peach/cherry malt and pine/grass hops flavor (? fennel). Mild alcohol burn to finish.

Bottled at RBESG 2007. A golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet wtih notes of alcohol and malt. The flavor is sweet malty and quite boring, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. The body is thin inspite of the alcohol notes.

Rerate, 330 ml bottle, from Selfridge’s food store, London. ABV is 6.8%. Golden colour, large white head. Fairly nice aroma of grassy, herbal and fruity hops, hints of candy. The flavour is fairly sweet, the alcohol is not very well hidden. Fruity and slightly spicy flavour. Original rating: Bottle, at RBESG 2007 in Glasgow, Grand Tasting. Golden colour. Nice but moderate fruity aroma. Fruity and somewhat acidic flavour. Not too impressive.

bottle at cropredy 2007 ... Light orange ... fruity hop ... light zezty hop .. mellow malts ... lots of fruit character ... some sweetness ... some soft orange and tiny hint of aniseed. My sister loved this beer.

Bottle from Sainsburys. deep gold colour with a slight white head and moderate carbonation. Aroma of herbs and spice but no trace of fennel. Flavour was a bit fruity with some more spice and a very dry finish. Different.

330ml bottle from Sainsburys. In celebration of my first year on ratebeer. Amber with no head and moderate carbonation - looking rather like a flat Australian lager; but redeemed by a complex aroma of tropical fruits leaping out of the glass. However the taste is also disappointing, rather flinty and austere with lots of minerals and no fruit; leading to a dry chalky finish that is also disappointing. A curates egg of a beer; at least the alcohol is well hidden.
