In 2006, Rick Stein challenged Sharp’s to create a Cornish beer with the character and quality to stand alongside Belgian greats. Shortly after Chalky’s Bite was born. Named in honour of Rick’s infamous four legged friend, this exceptional beer has since claimed multiple international brewing awards.

(330 ml bottle from a friend from London) Clear golden color, fluffy white head. Hoppy, fruity and malty scent. MAlty taste. Medium mouthfeel, medium high bitterness. Grainy aftertaste.

Bottle from Sainsburys, Kidlington, Oxon, 17-06-07. Pours warm golden with samll head. Aroma a touch spicey, leading to atouch of spiciness in the tatse also evident was a dash of tropical fruit much like a little injection of Rubicon Mango or Guava juice, I wasn’t overly fussed and didn’t get the Fennel but it was fine enough.

Bottle at Chris_O London bottlefest March 07. Gold colour with thin off white head. Some herb, some citrus lemony/grapefruit. Citrusy in mouth. Some almost bleachy aroma, maybe that was the herb/spice. Blond beer, syrupy and thin at the same time. Alcohol does come on. Not only has this dog died, but Steaming Billy and the black labrador at Rogue too.

Bottled. Golden colour, not much head. Malts, and fruits in aroma. Flavour is citric, appleish and hoppy. Also alcohol is noteable as a small glueish/eggish mix in both flavour and aroma.

[Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival] Clear golden. Citric nose. Sweetish with clean but mellow mouthfeel. No hops detected, instead an abundance of alcohol. No bitterness. Top fermented malt liqour?
