Special this year is a Wine Barrel-aged Anniversary Ale. This incredibly special beer is a barleywine that was aged for two years in red wine barrels. Then we took it up a notch and amplified the wine character by adding blueberries and fresh-cut vanilla.

Spritzy, malt soda vibes, light bodied, oak and candied raisin sugar, oh crap it's 15.8% abv, sneaky!

Aroma has notes of wood, Play-Doh, coconut, cashew brittle, turpentine (fleeting), blueberry, vanilla. Taste is moderately sweet and fairly tart from the blueberries and some bitterness on the back end. Other than that fleeting off-note in the aroma, this is really good. --- Beer merged from original tick of Anniversary Ale: Year 5 on 06 May 2025 at 00:57 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 7.5 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7.5. Original review text: Aroma is boozy, toffee, woody, cashew brittle, coconut. Taste is fairly sweet and bitter with flavors like the aroma and some notable oxidation. A little thin and watery for style. Good flavors and aroma though.

(Can) clear, bright orange brown color with a small beige head; aroma of dried fruit, compote, smooth palate; intense, balanced flavor with a long, light bitter finish
