West Coat IPA Don’t let the name fool you, your green friend is here to sucker punch you with hop flavor! This light-bodied West Coast IPA is built on a base of pilsner malt with a small amount of Cashup Wheat malt that sets the foundation for Cascade & Citra T90 pellets, and a dry-hopping of Citra Cyro, Columbus Cyro, Simcoe Cyro & Nelson Sauvin. Lemoney pine & dank terpenes will coat your tounge, ending with a mellow bitterness.

On tap at Elizabeth Station, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma has gentle piney hops, doughy malt, fresh bread, allium, and some citrusy tang. Flavour bursts with tropical melon, citrusy hops, some hop tang, and a touch of allium. Good mix of hops, well-balanced, finishing crisp and bitter. Very good.

Pint at the brewpub. For my first Varietal beer served at the source, going with a west coast hop monster seemed like the obvious choice. Copper color with a creamy head, aroma is hop forward with piney and citrus goodness. The taste is an aggressive, yet approach level of bitters with a slight sweetness. Mostly piney and dank, faint citrus and a barely noticeable malt bill. Very good.
