Bottle. (10% ABV) A clear, copper body topped by an off-white head. Malty and fruity nose with lots of resiny hops and a good dash of beef-stock. The flavor is as expected malty, fruity and bitter, with some chocolate added. Quite heavy flavor actually with the alcohol well hidden. Full-bodied and sweet in the mouth, and some apples in the finish, along with the beef-stocky malt and resiny hops. And of course, bitterness. A really nice, heavy beer. (080620)

Bottle @ Cnudde Tasting.. Clear medium amber color with a small, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, wood, oak, toffee, alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily - syrupy, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. (290308)

12oz bottle thanks to Acknud for this one. Pours out a clear brown topped with almost no head. A nice aroma of sweet pit fruit and light hop. Tast of light malt more of that pit fruit and a touch of hops. Not to bad.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of markgugs. Vintage 2006. Clear amber golden with a small, off-white head. The nose is full of overripe fruit and some aroma hops. Solid body with plenty of caramel, overripe fruit and a little vanilla. Warming alcoholic finish - yet rather soft. 290308

A dark orange amber ale with a thick light moka head. Aroma is musty and sweet, with light vinous notes, a bit understated. In mouth, a good caramel malt, oily, yet raspy from the British hops, with strong almost gin like alcohol, a bit unbalanced for the style, not enough malt to balance the alcohol. Bottle from Party Source Syracuse, summer 2007.

12 oz bottle-pours a rich tan head and slightly hazed brown/copper color. Aroma is sweet medium malt-caramel, some spice/earthy, nutty, resin/pine. Taste is some slickness/ sweet medium malt-caramel, some spice/earthy, nutty, resin/pine-hops with some bite, alcohol. Solid in style of an American BW, nice. Medium body. OK effervescence/carbonation.

Nice looking pour with a crystal clear amber color and thin off white head. Healthy aroma of caramel, dark fruit candy and hints of alcohol. The flavor is just like the aroma with plum, date and cherry flavored hard candy. Beyond that are mild caramelized malts and caramel candy flavors. Near the end there seems to be a faint toffee note. This could probably use a bit more age.
