Prima classificata Migliore Birra Artigianale Italiana 2006 categoria Altri Cereali
Cinque Stelle della Guida alle Birre d’Italia ediz. Slow Food 2011
Medaglia di Platino ai Mondiali de la Bière, Strasbourg ed. 2010
Si abbina ai dolci, ma anche ai formaggi molto stagionati ed ai piatti di selvaggina.

Bottle (GBBF 2008) - Dark brown in colour and slightly hazy due to the yeast sediment. Chocolatey and slightly tart aroma. Chocolate and some dried fruits in the taste such as raisins and sultanas. Not bad but could get a bit sickly after a while I think.

(6/29/08) Bottle sample at RBESG08 grand tasting in Plzen. Dark brown-black color with a brown head. Aroma is full of dark chocolate and some carob. Flavor has some roastiness, cocoa and hints of carob. Medium to full-bodied, quite syrupy. Decent.

Very hazy brown color, small firm tan head. Strong aroma of cocoa and candy. Liquerish palate. Nice cocoa liquerish flavor with some chocolate too. Very tasty.

How do I say this name? Tap @ Gingerman. Pours black with a light tan head. Aroma is surprising, lightly tart fruit jam with licorice and some dark prunes. That’s not what it actually smells like but I can’t freaking figure out how the heck to describe it. Very new and original with earthy, fruity, tart, and dark fruit aspects. Flavor is full of dark berries and dark malts but comes off a bit astringent. Some sweet dark grape skins as well.. Got to admit, stuff is pricey but its original.
Re-rate: 750mL flip top bottle. Pours beautiful with a large khaki head, that never fully fades, which sits atop a black body. Aroma is slightly sour tropical fruits, seems like a combination of esters and a cool yeast. Taste is an amalgamation of light roast, light chocolate sweetness and an earthy mineral feel. Goes down very easy yet full of character. Its well carbonated but has a slightly velvet feel on the tongue as well . Overall a very nice and original brew, very different than a traditional stout and not yeast dominated like a Belgian stout. The sourness on the nose is lovely, not really damn sure where its coming from. 8/4/8/4/16.

Bottle (Pilsen 2008): Very dark-amber coloured, small beige head; cacao, almonds and nuts in the nose; quite full sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; Chocolate and almonds, again in the fruity-malty finish. Interesting brew......

Bottled. Deep amber colour, small brown head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee and fudge and that’s pretty much it. Flavour is coffee, lots of chocolate and fudge. Pleasantly balanced and bigtime chocolate beer.

RBESG08 grand tasting Took me a sec to decypher the name.Really dark brown body with a small ochre head. Nice light chocolatey nose. Chocolate and hazelnuts in the taste, nice maltiness. I’d have it again I guess.

Bottled at RBESG. Very dark brown, beige head. From nose to finish the ghost of chocolate and wild raspberries hang over this beer. It’s sweet and medium bodied, densely malty with some cocoal bitterness. Like strawberries dipped in dark chocolate. Quite delicious actually, but I would not drink a bottle on my own.

Deep black with a completly disappearing head ... roast malt again im getting ever so light sour tinge in nose (thats 2 for 2 for this beer and 3/4 for tonight beers)... quite mellow flavours ... roast chocolate malts ... Id agree with some raisins ... again id agree with some jam tones (ive never described at beer in such ways before) sweet fruit FRESH home made jam tones in fact now ive read it thast what im getting over and over sweet jam, possibly strawberry.... Very nice but just fails to give that last kick into awsome
