Draught at the brewpub Sct. Clemens, Århus, 5.1% ABV
Black color, with a creamy brownish head. Aroma of cardboard and black malt. The body is medium-thin, it has a strong black malt flavor covering everything, a too high cardboard presence and a light sourness from the roasted malt; the burnt malt leaves a rather unpleasant aftertaste. Really monodimentional and with little flaws, even if I were a fan of the style, I doubt that I would enjoy this too much. I noticed on the menu, they say that it is bottom-fermented.

Draft. A slightly hazy deep red beer with a lazing brown head - too light in color for the style. The aroma is sweet with notes of yeast and butter as well as notes of caramel and berries. The flavor is sweet with butter hitting first, but then notes of roasted malt comes rolling combined with a light touch of berries, leading to a dry roasted finish.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with a chocolate brown and dense head. Classic Apollo aroma blended into a hard roasted malt aroma. Hard roasted malt, slight butterish flavour. Ends solid bitter with a subdued chocolate smoothness and more of the same hardroasted malt notes.
