Cask from the brewery. Clear amber body with a thin white head that quickly fades. Faint lacing. Aroma of cranberry and caramel. Flavour of boozy watermelon, toffee apple and berries. Medium body with an oily texture. Faint carbonation prickle. A very drinkable Scotch Ale.

Poured from gravicask, half pint shared with Finn as our last drink at The 8th Redhill Beer Festival. Headless, slightly hazy, dark brown coloured body. Dried fruity aroma. Dark plums, prunes, raisin and bread in a rather well blended flavour supported by alcohol warmth on the swallow. Full bodied. Very nice even though it’s quite heavy to drink, 02.11.2012).

Gravity cask at The Bree Louise, London. Pours golden-brown with a small, bubbly head. Fairly mild nose, some ripe fruits, preserves, bread. Medium sweet flavor with considerable alcohol notes. Some cake, ripe fruits, cherry liqueur. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet, warm finish, slightly sticky, with booze-soaked fruits such as grapes and cherries, and bread dipped in vodka. Some subtle brown sugar notes, which are nice. The alcohol presence is right there for the taking, so if you like the sauce, you might like this guy.
