Dark brown. Aroma is woody, vinous. Rich smooth texture. It’s dry, woody and malty.

Cask at NWAF, 2011. Reddish-amber pour with a white head. Aromas of toffee, caramel, red apples. Flavours of caramel, malts, butter scotch. Quite a sweet finish.

Cask at NWAF 2009. A chestnut colored beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, alcohol, and vegetables. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, vegetables, alcohol, and caramel, leading to a dry and lightly alcoholic finish.

Cask @ National Winter Ales Festival 2009, Manchester. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a slightly roasted malty caramel aroma with some hoppy hints. Slightly roasted malty caramel and toffee flavor. Has a slightly sweetish malty caramel finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

cask at cloisters edinburgh ... copper ... sweet toffee and vanilla nose ... again the same tones in flavour ... ligth bitterness ... quite rich

Cask (handpump) @ The National Winter Ales Festival 2008, Manchester, UK. Clear medium amber color with a small, fizzy - virtually none appearance, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, sweet, light hoppy, perfume. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily - syrupy, carbonation is flat. (170108)
