Cask@Kitty’s, Helsinki. The first pint of the day. Nut brown color, decent creamy beige head. Nutty nose with hints of caramel. Caramel malty base then nice nutty hoppyness in the finish and aftertaste. Good solid real ale.

Cask-conditioned at the Raven, Bath 5/10/08. Darkish amber in colour with a decent, off-white head. Aroma of grassy hops, caramel and red fruits. Flavour was sweet, with some chunky malts, toffee and a decent bitter finish. Good stuff.

Cask. Rusty amber colour with small beige head. Aroma is grass, nuts, some wooden hints as well as mild notes of toffee. Flavour is malts, grass, wood and quite much nuts. A bit sticky palate, but overall very resfreshing.

Cask (handpump) @ Bartons Arms, Aston, Birmingham B6, UK. [ My Premium Bitter rating #100] Clear medium red brown color with a average, frothy creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, moderate hoppy, grape, orange. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (100108)

Cask at Clockwork, Glasgow. A dark amber beer with no head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also a light nutty note. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of both caramel and nuts.

Cask handpull at The Rake, Borough. Chestnut brown colour, bubbly beige head. Nutty malt. Good malty aroma, dry malt in mouth. Some hop on end. Bit flat in mouth, but malty dry finish is lovely. Even a tad sour. Interesting.

(Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Colour is dark ruby, almost mahogany, with little head. Nose is malty and fruity, with hints of dried fruit, quite roasted. Taste starts malty with notes of dried fruit (raisins, figs, apricots), turns drier in the long bitter finish, with distinct hoppy, resiny notes and hints of caramel and toffee. Good stuff as expected, I’m hardly ever disappointed with brews from this brewery.

Reddish amber. Roasty and flowery. Sweet with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Intensely hoppy with resiny, very bitter finish.
