Lekker looking bier with white head and deep copper body. Aroma of malt, hops and pine. Full mouth with creamy texture. Seems lighter in alcohol than it is. Ordinary finish, almost disappointing until the hop bite. Definitely worth seeking out.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of CaptainCougar. Pours ever so slightly hazy, pale, amber golden with an off-white head. Sweetish aroma of caramel. Medium-bodied, lightly sweet caramel with a fairly hoppy finish. 060407

Bottle. Pour is about the color of apple juice with a one finger high fizzy head. Aroma is interesting: grass, sweet malt, a bit of alcohol and a touch of fruity/floral hops. Flavor starts off sort of silky and creamy with sweetness, but the takes a right turn and heads south into an astringent alcoholic tailspin. This is especially the case on the first few sips... After a couple minutes, it seems to be getting a little more hospitable, but even so, the alcohol is not well hidden.

12oz Bottle. Clear light copper color with thin white head. Light aroma of malts and hops. Too mellow to pick up which type. Nice mild flavor of caramel malts and sweet lightly roasted malts. It is indeed a bit creamy with just a little piney hop bitterness about midway to the finish. I guess for a cream ale this 7.6% ABV is hi gravity. It isn’t really noticeable.

I have been rather pleased with the beers I have gotten from this brewer. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy orange-copper color with a small yellow-white head. The aroma is sweet, tangy and fruity. The flavor was sweet and tangy with a ripe fruit element. The fruity hops change to floral hops on the finish. Tasty.

An orange beer with a slight haze under a thick off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with a light touch of hops. The flavor is sweet with a good hop profile and a crisp maltiness.

Strong initial white head sits atop a peanut-butter/golden mix of colored liquid. Filtered, clear, big bubbles show forced carb, obviously, because Lagunitas dosent "keep it real".
Smells, hmmmm, actually one of the more dry smelling Lagunitas beers. I was ready to get attacked by hops (I did), but I didnt get blasted with an equal dose of caramelly-syrupy malt. More of a grainy, lighter colored malt base, is somewhat snappier, but is buried beneath an emergent fountain of citric and resinous hops. Some yeast sharpness on the very end? Maybe, or maybe it’s just hops.
The flavor is not as dry as hoped for, the lack of huge amounts of heavier crystal malts do not overwhelm with caramel sweetness, but still, there is a strong honeyish, bordering some light caramel tints. Hoppiness is assertive, heavy and very American. Citric and maybe a touch of very ligh flowers, but just tons of strong, somewhat sweet citrus fruits and dry pine resin. Alcohol is mostly well-concealed. The texture loosens almost immediately, as the fake carbonation falls off. By the end, the filtered body and dissipated carbonation create a syrupy, sugary, bitter mess which yours truly could not finish.

Yes another beer style gets "Imperialized", this time a Cream Ale. The final result is not nearly as bad as I would have expected. The beer is a dark golden color with a medium fluffly white head that has pretty good retention. Rings of lacing throughout the glass. Aroma of fruit and hops. Medium-bodied with flavor characteristics similar to something like Gumballhead but not as pronounced. Clean, wheaty mouthfeel with citrus and malt in the background. The finish is a little peppery with hops and spices. Yes it’s great for a Cream Ale but still isn’t exactly earth-shaking. Still, I would get this again.

Definitly not your granadpa’s cream ale, way too strong and tasteful. Pours with no head but lots of sediment for this golden orange beer, cannot see through the beer. The smell is strong an so is the taste. The palate is weak compared to such a flavorful beer. No bitterness and goes down smooth with sweetness.
