Brutal bitter is a imperial bitter and one of the original hazy beers that dates back more than 20 years. Brewed and dry hopped with 100% Rogue Farms Alluvial hops that exhibit flavors and aromas of peach (no fruit added). The malt adds good structure, some nuttiness and provides a deep golden hue.

Keg at Rogue, PDX airport, 12/11/14. Golden orange with a decent off white covering. Nose is bitter citric rinds, orange pith, pine, juicy hops, straw. Taste comprises grapefruit, light orange pith, apricot, citric peel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a dose of hop bitterness. Decent enough IPA.

Not brutal at all, slightly sweet brown ale notes. Hops compliment the malts quite nicely, with some background bitterness. Easy drinker.

650 ml bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours clear gold, thick, pillowy white head. Aromas of orange, candied peel, caramel. Taste is light bitter, good balancing sweetness, quite refined for something calling itself brutal. Oily texture, bitter, but crisp finish. Really good.

Bottle. Metallic orange peel and orange malt aroma. Cloudy golden yellow with small head. Sweet floral orange-caramel malt and mildly bitter orange peel flavor. Nice.

Nydelig frisk duft av citrusfrukter og honning. Dunkel gyllen farge. Hvitt skum, heng langs kant. God smak av citrus med en anelse honning i ettersmaken.

Aroma: Hops, lemon, fruit.
Taste: Lots of hops, floral, some fruit. Thankfully not that brutal.

Has everyone on RB rated this before me. Ah, that’s okay. Here’s my take on it.
IPA deserves a straight up pint glass, ha ha, hmmmmmm....let’s do this.
The appearance was a slight burnt orange to brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There was some light lacing here and there all around and just glazing the glass in a nice adequate fashion.
The smell had a light orange to glazed over tangerine sort of light and somewhat leading apricot to mango citrus wonderful aroma.
The taste was mainly sweet but still had a light decent bitterness that ended up having a slight bitter hoppiness all around.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was there but still had a slight harshness but was still good for the most part.
Overall, pretty good beer to have again.

Clear amber. Off-white creamy head. Spicy and hoppy nose: pepper, orange, vanilla. Lovely. Moderately bitter, moderately sweet - bit harsh on the bitterness. Lovely, well balanced, but not overwhelming.
