As the name suggests, we’ve used just one variety of hop in this pale golden ale. Brewed with just low colour Maris Otter malt and a little wheat for head retention, we’ve selected some of the more “interesting” hops that we haven’t used before and added several bucket loads to each brew. Currently we’re using the experimental hop “Beata”, a high beta acid hop nobody seems to know anything about! First impressions suggest a subtle citrus character.

On gravity at the Bank, Bristol 08/08/09. Pale gold in colour with a slight white head. Big savoury malt aroma, with a touch of citurs in the background. Flavour of chewy, cereal malts with a big bitter finish. Ok.
