Sample at the taproom. Black pour with some brown around the edges, and a medium light beige head that diminishes steadily to a dense film. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, pumpkin spice and vanilla. Full-bodied with flavors of toasted malt, sweet vanilla, pumpkin spice and hops. The finish is sweet and roasty with a pumpkin vanilla ice cream aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Pint can - billed as an imperial porter with pumpkin and vanilla - 8.1% - black pour - roasty and earthy nose - flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, moderately roasty - roast and black malt create a coffee character, followed by a vanilla sweetness and an earthy toasted pumpkin finish - understated and fairly well-balanced, which is more than I can say for a lot of pumpkin beers.
