The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass is not very zippy, not much foam. Hoppy aroma. Tastes malty, dry, not very strong. Mild finish. Not really like a bock. Disappointing!

Draught @ Maisel Keller, Bamberg, Germany. Clear medium orange color with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, white head. Aroma is moderate toffee, sugar. Flavor is moderate sweet and light light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (171007)

Bottle: Golden coloured, small stable off-white head; bisquity-malty nose with a big touch of bread, aromatic hops detectable; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied, soft MF, a bit sticky; some secret alcohol in the robust bisquity, bready and slightly bitter finish. A pleasant, quite individual and spicy, Bock...................

(bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a medium-sized foamy white head, leaving some lace-work. Sweet malty, bready nose with a tinge of honey and herbal, faint flowery hoppy notes. Sweet malty, bready flavour with notes of sour dough and honey; medium bodied with a moderate carbonation; Malt-accented taste with cara-malt and honey; sweet malty finish with marzipan in the aftertaste and a whiff of bittering hops for the balance. Not overly convincing but pretty drinkable.

Bottled. An orange beer with a light orange head. The aroma is sweet malty and alcoholic. The flavor is sweet malty with quite a lot of alcohol, giving it a light metal note, leading to a dry bitter finish. The alcohol really warms. A good winter warmer.

Sample from bottle. Pours clear yellow. Aroma of malt, although very vague. Flavour is slight oxidiced and malty. Light sweet finish.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a clear, fully golden with a small, off-white head. Sweetish, malty aroma. Rather full body with a very solid malt base - sweetish malt - and a warming alcohol in the finish. But not as alcoholic as the style often can be. After a long drive to Bamberg, this was an excellent reward. 061106

Golden coloured. Restrained fruitiness, near full bodied, late, lingering hop bitterness. A very well balanced bock.
