Sample at the taproom during the "Bottle Release - Name Your Own Beer" event on 03/24/2017. Flat black pour with a medium light brown head that dissipates steadily to a film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Chocolate, coffee and malt aroma. Full-bodied with a roasty espresso and malt character, with some cocoa and vanilla in the background. The finish is sweet with a vanilla mocha aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

10 ounce at the brewery - black pour - was looking forward to this since the worldwide is quite good - this one is a bit harsh - sharply bitter espresso/roast and slightly alcohol burn - the bitterness lingers on the palate and makes the other qualities harder to enjoy (like chocolate, dark fruit, smoke) - it’s not unenjoyable, but lacks balance.
