Barleywine (Red Wine Barrel)

Tulip at the brewery - listed at 12.1 abv - hazy amber - nose of doughy malts, dark fruit, fairly strong oak and tannic character, some fig and raisin - texture is a little watery and thin for the style and abv - moderate prickly acidity up front, mild sourness, very mild acetic notes in the back - malt.character is slim, with the exception of some doughy qualities - strong oak and moderate wine character - finish is oaky to the point of bitterness - a little messy, but the malt.character opens up a bit as it warms.
