375ml bottle - labeled at 12.5 abv and says aged in whiskey barrels, so maybe this is the Leopold bros. one? Anyway, pours a deep burgundy with a foamy, quickly diminishing head - a little oak and cherry in the nose, smelling deeply of red wine - more sour than other iterations of this beer, but that rich malt backbone is still there - warming alcohol and rich oak - cherry is quite prominent and combines with oak and dark malt for a very vinous character - light smoke and leather - reminds me of a sour version of Hair of the Dog Cherry Adam from the Wood, which is high praise.

Grunt fill from Albertsons. As black as the night, flat pour. Aroma is sour cherries, with a bit of brett funk. Taste blasts on the palate, sweet, then tart, then sour. Nice cherry essence throughout. Tart and dry finish.

Sampled from the tap at First Draft. Pours a dark earthy brown with a grayish brown head that dissipates to the edges quickly. Aroma has a nice sour cherry with a touch of dark grains, funk and a bit bourbon barrel. Flavor has strong sour cherry through with a touch of dark grains, bourbon barrel and a hint of funk.
