Can from the brewery - I’m grateful for the understated barrel treatment here - for the most part, the alluring qualities of the base beer are intact (caramelized sugars, dark fruit, dark bread, warming spice) - rum barrel character is present, but lurking in the background - to be honest, though, rather than adding any interesting depth, it just kind of becomes a distraction - it’s good, but I prefer the base beer.
