Our flagship beer - the one Rob brewed first and still the beer we brew most of. Scapa Special is a classic pale ale with wide appeal. Ever so balanced, the skill that Rob has so well honed, this beer and biscuity malt upfront and delicate but ascending hops in the middle and end. Three malts and five hops - from Britain, Germany and the US - make Scapa Special a classic pale ale.

On cask at Dores Inn, Dores - slightly foggy yellow body with a little white top. Sweetish caramel with a slightly hoppy bitterness at the end. Very pleasant.

Bottle at home. Pours a slightly hazy amber colour light beige head. Aroma of fudge, grass, bread, flowers and some leather and dried apricots. Flavour of grass, bread, leather, pine and some fudge in the background. Has a slick mouth feel, light body and a light to medium bitterness. Decent with a nice mix of malts and hops.
