Sample at the tap room. The beer is a slightly hazy amber color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes steadily to a film. Stringy lacing. Aroma of smoked malt, fruit and hops. Medium to full body with a smoky character and flavors of roast malt, citrus and earthy hops. The finish is moderately smoky with a hops and charred malt aftertaste. Above average overall.

I was going to enter this as a double IPA, but the smoke is so intense, I went the other way - a copious amount of cherrywood smoked malt makes it intensely smoky in nose and aroma - moderate sweetness - strong bitterness which actually compliments the earthy, woody smokiness to it - strong finishing bitterness, but a moderate sweetness and campfire smoke linger on the tongue.
