Clear copper beer, with a frothy, bright white lace that leaves streaks of stickiness down the sides of the glass - explodes with rye in the nose and the flavor, without much else in the way of supporting aroma or flavor - now, I love rye beer, so this isn’t exactly a bad thing, but it does make the beer a bit one-dimensional - some hops and a moderate malt sweetness add some fruity character to the beer - once I got near the bottom of my pint, the beer started to develop a mild chemical presence in the background, like the taste that many Saranac beers have, but it was very hard to notice - flawed and lacking complexity, but I loves me some rye.
