Imperial Brown Ale

This bold, brown ale gets its body from a team of malts including caramel malt for sweetness, flaked barley for dense foam, a bit of chocolate malt for its deep color, and aromatic and Munich malts to add even more depth. German and Perle hops add a touch of bitterness to balance the malty sweetness. The addition of rich Sumatra coffee takes this perfectly balanced brown ale to a decadent level.

Botella 33 cl en el Cheers Oviedo 05..04..2018. (r645).

12 oz bottle. Aroma is strong coffee, wet rock, vanilla, caramel, dark bread, black licorice. Pours dark brown with red highlights; has a one finger beige head with good retention and some lace. Taste is lightly bittersweet with flavors that match the aroma; coffee and licorice stand out in particular. Tastes good, but doesn't quite live up to the aroma. Really nice overall.

Bottle. Color: Very dark ruby, light brown head. Taste: Nicely balanced between medium sweet and medium bitter notes. Notes of coffee, mocha and nuts. Hints of caramel. Earthy. Above medium to full body, below average carbonation. Long lasting bittery coffee finish. Very well balanced. Another very nice Founders beer.

Very dark brown with thick fluffy head. Aroma has lots of sweet coffee. Flavour is much more bitter with a tonne of burnt coffee. Pleasantly rich snd smooth

Spezibraun, wenig Schaum. In der Nase sehr deutlich Kaffee. Im Trunk cremig, deutlich auch hier Kaffee, Malz. Mittig leichte Süße. Hinten holzig, malzig. Fantastische Drinkability. Gutes Ding!

Tap @Luppolo Station in Rome. Chestnut skin pour with caramel highlights and a creamy dark ivory foam, quite adhesive. Nose: molasses, nutty cream, green coffee beans, tons of roast coffee beans too. Mouth: smoked caramel if you know what I want to mean :-) tons and tons of nuts and hazelnuts. So rich and intensive, not obvious, not sweet (+). Great

On tap @Luppolo Station (Rome). Nera, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma beige media. Al naso note di caffé, tanto luppolo, erbaceo, nocciola, cioccolato. In bocca è dolce all'attacco con amaro deciso finale. Corpo pieno, carbonazione media. Buona, ma non proprio il mio genere di birra.

Medium roast coffee nose, very strong. Clear brown, thick firm tan head, good lace. Coffee swiftly turns to maple syrup, subtle cocoa hints throughout. Medium body, easy carbonation. No ordinary brown ale.
