A wonderfully mellow, nutty, morish dark mild. Brewed using Maris Otter Pale, Crystal and Black malts and gently hopped with Challenger.

Handpull cask at the Kingston Arms, Cambridge. Dark brown, just a bit translucent, with a creamy head. Smells of liquorice with a bit of chocolate malt. Taste is sweet, almost sickly, and shot through with syrupy liquorice. Medium body with natural carbonation on the short finish. Just too sweet for me, although I can certainly tell that itโs well-made.

Dark beer with a beige, bubbly head. Mine looked a bit flat and the head disappears but thatโs a bit misleading. Malty chocolate dominates the smell and the flavour. Feels a bit watery both in the mouth and the finish but itโs decent enough.

Cask pint at the Leyton Orient Supporters Club. Very dark ruby color, nearly black. Small beige head. Moderate malty aroma. Very nice malty / slightly roasty and fruity flavour, hints of mild coffee, chocolate and blackcurrants. A pleasant mild.

On cask in London. Smooth malty beginning with hints of smoky roast. Nuts, roasted caramel. Nice and deep dark. Refreshing but still easy to drink with depth. Round and fresh. Nice!

Tried at the Lincoln Beer festival 2015. Ruby brown colour with a small off white head. Aroma is fruity with malt and caramel. The taste follows what youโd expect from the aroma. Slightly sweet finish.

Hand-pulled pint in The Nags Head, Walthamstow Village on 4th Feb 2014. Black body with a red hue in a bright light, on top a creamy, beige head. Roasted/toasted malt nose, with a semi-sweet hint. The sweetness within the aroma comes alive a little more in the taste giving the beer a mild caramel feel to itโs maltiness. Slight bitterness towards the finish leaving you wanting more. Good depth of flavours, good depth of body and overall a good Mild.
