A deceptively easy drinking IPA style special bitter, with a lingering dry hoppy finish. Using the same blend of Maris Otter, Crystal and Wheat malts found in our session bitter, Hornbeam is brewed to a much higher original gravity. This is balanced by a liberal addition of Northdown hops at the start of the boil, with two further additions of Challenger hops to leave a slightly fruity aftertaste.

Gravity dispense at the Miners’ Arms Summer Beer Festival, St Werburgh’s Bristol 6/8/07. Amber coloured with a minimal head. Aroma was of red fruit with some grassy hops. Flavour started with some fruity malt before a bitter finish kicked in. Ok.
