Can’t believe I’ve not rated this before, but here goes. Cask at Five Lamps, Derby. Pours the classic bitter brown with a small frothy white head. Malts and biscuits in the aroma. Sweet and malty in the mouth with caramel coming through. Traces of hops and pepper can be found if searched for. Finish is fairly dry. Pretty bland to say the least.

A mate is from Leicester so have had this historical ticks number of times when visiting him. Is it also the beer they have on at the rugby ground but rebadged?

Cask pour at the Royal Blenheim, Ruddy amber pour, with small tight head. Malty aroma and taste, right in the wheelhouse for the style. Smooth and creamy.

Pours a clear amber with a coppery tint and a small beige head. Aroma is orange marmalade and light malt. A moderately sweet malt taste, smooth in the mouth and a light citrus fruitiness. A very light (too light) bitterness in the finish, could do with more to cut through the sweetness.
